Introduction

WordPress is one of the most popular and flexible website builders. You can design almost any website with this platform, but keeping it as simple as possible is important. The website must be visible on search engines (Mostly Google) to achieve this. Search engines do not like websites loaded with heavy lousy codes. You might see many websites with fancy graphics and animations, but they perform poorly when loading browsers. For this reason:

• You must use the most well-written theme (Like Generatepress) to build your website with the fastest rendering of code. The premium version is free for the first year. 
• Avoid using unnecessary plugins.
• Use an SEO plugin (like RankMath) which helps to rank on Google search results.

Learn it step by step.

Go step by step when needed. Like: if you need to change an image on WordPress, search for it on YouTube and apply that single change changes. This way, you always remember what you learn.

Maintenance

WordPress is relatively easy to maintain but has a slight learning curve. You can only find this platform easier than this, but you need to learn some basics to make changes properly down the road.

Always backup before major updates

Before any major update, back up your entire site. The easiest way is to install a backup plugin. We suggest the free version of the WPvivid plugin. After installing and activating the plugin, simply backup the site and download the file in your local storage:

Keeping your website updated

You need to log in and check your WordPress website once in a while (At least once a month) to see if any updates are available. You can see this at the top-left of the dashboard. If there are any updates, a red number will appear here. This is very important because the codes are imperfect, and developers are always improving to keep everything out of hackers’ hands.

To start the update, click on the red notification on the top left of the dashboard. This will take you to the updates page (There are no notifications if there are no updates available):

You can see all available updates here. It includes:

• The core WordPress updates (If available), 
• Theme updates, 
• And plugin updates. 

In this example, we just have plugin updates. So first you check to select all first, then hit update:

Adding new posts regularly 

Besides the updates, this is the only thing you need to do regularly, and it will keep your business visible in the search result (The process is the same for adding pages).

• Go to the dashboard > Then post
• It’s (On the left menu).
• Add new post
• Add title and text
• Add images (If necessary)
• Add an image by uploading it from your computer.
• You can replace the image at any time.
• You can save the draft to continue working on the post later.
• Hit Publish (Top-right) if everything is done.
• That’s it.

Editing an existing post or page

• You need to be logged in first. The login URL for your website is (Replace “yoursite” with your domain name): https://yoursite.com/wp-admin
• While you’re logged in, go to any pages/posts.
• At the top menu, click on Edit Post/page. (Alternatively, you can log in. Go to the dashboard and access the posts and pages from the left menu.
• Begin editing by changing/adding the text. Or replacing the images.

Or, as mentioned above, you can log in to your site first. Then go to the dashboard and on the left menu click on post. Here, you can find a list of your post to start editing.

Adding a page to the site menu

You can add any page to the site menu.

• Go to your dashboard
• Click on Appearance first
• Click on menu

Choose the menu you want to edit from drop-down.

Checkmark the item you need to add. Then click on the “Add to menu” button.

The page is visible in the menu now. Don’t forget to save it before leaving this page.

You can delete menu items by clicking on the “Remove” button.

You can also move the menu item by dragging and dropping anywhere in the menu (Or as a sub-menu).

Install Dymo Label software

You can download Dymo Label Software for Macs and windows from Dymono’s website. Install the printer only after it’s been plugged back into the computer.

You will need a wireless network name (SSID) and password or passphrase to use the Wireless Label Printer. Find your current WiFi connection on your PC by clicking “Wireless Networks” in Windows settings—the listing of available networks should appear instantly under ‘WiFi’ just as it does below:

• Turn on the Dymo printer and wait 10 seconds.
• On your computer, connect to the wireless network (The printer’s unique name can be found on a sticker at the bottom of the printer).
• In a new Internet browser tab, enter http://192.168.58.1 and press Enter to open LabelWriter Web Configuration Utility.
• Log in using the admin username and password, then click Sign in.
• On the Name your Printer page, click Next to accept the printer name.
• On Connect your Printer page, click Next to accept recommended DHCP connection type.
• On Connect your Printer to a Wireless Network page, click Connect next to a desired wireless network (it should be the same one the computer is connected to).
• When prompted for a password or passphrase for this wireless network – enter it and click Connect.
• A progress message will show the status while connecting; once successful “connected” message will appear with the IP Address given at the bottom of the screen – write this down for future reference as Your printer is now connected wirelessly!

Update Dymo Label software

Retail barcode printers are only supported for Dymo Label Version 8.7+. Please click this link for the latest versions of the Dymo Labels software that is not current. Install the software following the instructions provided in the installation file. When security options are enabled, the system extension is Blocked, then click on Optimized security settings. Next, click General and then click Allow. Download Dymo label software. Download the new application and follow the installation instructions.

Start printing

After the Dymo Label Software has been successfully installed, you can start printing labels immediately.

• First, click File > New to create a blank label.
• Then design your label using text boxes, images, and other formatting features.
• Click and drag the text label object, barcode object, and other label objects into your design area.
• After creating your barcode label layout, go to the file menu and save it as a new file.
• When ready to print, click File>Print or simply press Ctrl+P on your keyboard.
• You should see a print preview screen with your label design and settings, then click Print to complete the process.

Printing barcodes for rental inventory items

For rental items, you need to use heavy-duty asset tags that can survive in harsh indoor and outdoor conditions. But if you use LabelWriter 450 (Or similar printers), you can use Dymo’s Durable Industrial Labels. It’s made of long-lasting Polyester with Industrial-strength adhesive. The performance tests show that Weebly’s A grade is still intact. Webpage test shows strong performances in most parts of North America and Europe. This excludes areas close to Canada or Russia, where response times tend to lag more than average because their servers are based there. This may partially be due to the location chosen by entrepreneurs who run the company (so choose yours wisely!)

Cons Of Weebly

If you looked at Weebly, you would not see all full stars reviews. It’s not about the downsides. All software can face criticism. 

Custom domain is not free.

Weebly is a great website builder but has some limitations if you don’t pay for their service. For example, you can only use custom domains with a paid plan or buy one from Weebly. Even then, they still retain control over your subdomain! It may not make sense because plenty of editors out there will gladly create websites on demand at low prices (even free ones)! But all those options require constant maintenance, which many people lack the time/energy to do nowadays due to our hectic lives!

Blogging with limited capabilities

While it is possible to create blog posts on Weebly, the experience (Compared with WordPress and its dedicated content creation tools) makes for some strange output. For example, the format of each post cannot be changed. Furthermore, only limited options are available in the title or body text (even if you want image attachments). Of course, this might come down to my own familiarity experienced using different platforms. Still, I wish this area had received more attention from them during development. Because, as things stand now, you need more time to put together your articles!

Limited photo editor

There are only a few ways to edit your photos in Weebly’s built-in photo editor – Zoom, Blur/sharpen, and color filters. There’s something about the image editor that won’t let you crop one of the images? That doesn’t make sense, given what they’ve accomplished with Weebly’s site builder so far! You can upload as many photos as you want and then crop them manually or use the only other option, a ‘selective cropping tool.’

If you need more help, you should pay

Weebly offers many support channels to customers, but I felt more was needed. You can get free access to the site’s knowledge base and video tutorials. However, you may want more personalized help or quick responses from an actual person. In that case, there’s a cost involved (Depending upon what kind of question/feedback you are interested in getting addressed by them). This includes basic stuff such as phone calls (or emails) too! They also have live chat capabilities via email address requests AND Facebook messenger integration. So you don’t even need Webex software anymore 😉

What if you are not using Square payment

Payments on Weebly are, by default, handled with Square, which we can consider the “native” payments processing option. One problem here is that, as the native platform, it does not have all features available. For example, accepting credit card payments through Square is only possible if you’re in America or Canada (Because they only allow certain countries’ cards to be processed). As a result, for most non-US folks, opting into another processor will give more flexibility over pricing structures, fees, and funding options.

Making Money With Your Weebly Site

The best way to make money online is by creating quality content. This rule applies to Weebly websites, too (Like other traffic-driven websites!)

The critical factor in gaining search engine rankings for any site is Google’s algorithm updates (Which have frequently been changing these days). Because they’ll be getting valuable info from what was posted there first place (As opposed to just showing up at random spots within someone else’s content base).

• When you have selected your desired choice, you will be directed to Weebly’s template library, where you can begin creating your site.

You can also change templates at any given moment (Which makes this platform much more versatile than Wix or Squarespace). For example, some people may need to be more aesthetically pleasing.
